POST FALLS - The Sandpoint Bulldogs took a good look at their only division 4A league opponents and it's obvious that Moscow and Post Falls just don't measure up.
Sandpoint dominated each team in dual action. The Bulldogs topped Post Falls 58-10 and Moscow 63-14.
"We wrestled well and got a feel of what we need to do at districts to qualify kids for state," said Sandpoint head coach Mike Randles.
Against the Trojans, Sandpoint had pins by Brian Taylor at 275 pounds, Reggie Ross (145), Tony Hook (152), Chris Feist (160) and Dan Roos (215).
"Brian Taylor wrestled really well against Post Falls and had that kid on his back twice before pinning him," Randles said.
Taylor earned another pin against Moscow as did teammates Josh Ziegler (119), Ross, Feist and Jason Cates (171).
The Bulldogs will host Cheney and West Valley tonight.

Sandpoint overcame a five and a half point defecit entering the championship round to outlast Blackfoot High School at the Madison Invitational.
Hopes of repeating as tournament champions appeared to be lost for the Bulldogs when Blackfoot's Jose Garcia, last year's state runner up, posted a pin againts Sandpoint's Quinn Walkington in the first championship match, opening an 11.5 point lead for the Broncos. Sandpoint responded with a pin of their own at 119-pounds when Josh Ziegler stopped Blackfoot's David Bowman in the second period.
Blackfoot was unable to pad their lead at either 125- or 130-pounds as Madison's Tyler Wilcox and Snake River's Chance Grimmett posted wins over Tyler Robinson and Mario Cervantes respectively.
Sandpoint's Reggie Ross reduced Blackfoot's 5.5-point lead to 1.5-points when he decisioned Madison's Cameron Hanna for the 145-pound title.
Sandpoint took a 3.5-point lead when two-time defending state champion Tony Hook scored a major decision over Snake River's Andy Gerber.
Sandpoint's Luke Feist came up short in his bid to add to that lead when he was upended 1-0 by Teton's Chantz Calderwood in a hotly contested battle.
The turning point for both teams came at 171-pounds where Sandpoint's Jason Cates fought off his back and overcame a 5-point defecit to pin Blackfoot's Tyson Taylor at 171-pounds in a battle of returning state runner-ups.
Freshman standout Jerad Rosholt sealed the victory for the Dogs when he pinned top-seeded Nick Balmforth of Shelley.
Skyline, the state's top ranked 5A team finished third.

Sandpoint's junior varsity captured the Madison Junior Varsity Invitational. The Dogs had four individual champions in Jeremiah Watson (125), Chris Feist (160), Justin Watson (171), and Dan Roos (215). Finsihing second for the Dogs were Eric Lichty (160), Brian Kelly (135), and Eric Roberts (275).

RONAN, Mont. - Sandpoint opened the 2001-02 season by dominating the Ronan Invitational wrestling championships Saturday.
The Bulldogs, who took 27 wrestlers, concluded the tournament with seven champions, five runners-up, two third place finishers and 286.5 points.
Coeur d'Alene tied Ronan for fifth with 114 points.
Sandpoint senior Reggie Ross won the tournament's Pin Award after pinning three of his opponents inside of a minute.
"It was nice to see the guys get on the mat," said Sandpoint head coach Mike Randles, who is now looking ahead to Tri-State on Friday. "The Ronan tournament is not at the same caliber as Tri-State, but the advantage of Ronan is we get some mat time... plus we can see if there is anything we need to adjust."
Leading the way for Sandpoint with individual championships was Quinn Walkington at 105 pounds, Josh Ziegler at 119, Ross at 145, Tony Hook at 152, Chris Feist at 160, Jason Cates at 171 and Brian Taylor at 275.

COEUR d'ALENE - The Sandpoint wrestling team dominated both Coeur d'Alene and Lake City High School Wednesday night at Lake City High School.
The Bulldogs defeated the Vikings 57-19 and the Timberwolves 50-15.
Quinn Walkington at 103 pounds, Josh Ziegler at 119, Justin Ziegler at 125, Kelly at 140, Reggie Ross at 145, Tony Hook at 152, Chris Feist at 160 and Jared Rosholt at 189 each won a match apiece against Lake City and Coeur d'Alene opponents.
"This is the best a Coeur d'Alene team has wrestled against Sandpoint in four or five years," Viking coach Jeff Moffatt said. "We beat a real solid Colville team. This is a big step for our program."
The Coeur d'Alene and Lake City wrestling teams both defeated Colville. The Vikings (2-2) defeated Colville 42-30 and Lake City (5-1) beat Colville 40-20
